RSM Football, Regions Cup: it’s a party for NAT San Marino. Beaten the Romanians 3-2
There NAT San Marino wins and convinces in the last challenge of the intermediate round of UEFA Regions’ Cup in Albena (Bulgaria). The goal was to do well after the last two outings, even though the qualification was no longer achievable. In recent days, the coach Luigi Bizzotto had not hidden too much: he was aiming for victory. And so it was. The Titan team wins the match 3-2 against the Romanian amateur team of Prahova Muntenia.
Bizzotto changes form compared to the last two games and plays with the 4-3-1-2, with Dormi as an attacking midfielder behind the two strikers Mema and Urbinati. Disqualified Gaiani, captain Angelini and goalkeeper Gentilini are back at disposal after the disqualification.
At the start, the San Marino team is immediately perky. After only two minutes Semprini tries from the edge, the Romanian goalkeeper Preda is reactive. A minute passes and Dormi loads the left from the outside, high ball. The forcing of NAT San Marino does not end and on 9 ‘Urbinati also tries to free himself well just inside the area and kicks, Preda closes again. On the next action, however, the Titans are still close to the advantage thanks to the shot in the area of Pesaresi which ends up a breath. At fifteen minutes another nice exchange between Dormi and Urbinati, the conclusion of the tip ends up not by much.
The Romanian amateur team also began to show up in the 24th minute with Trifan’s shot from outside which ended up altogether. A minute after a great blow from outside Tintaru, Gentilini takes refuge for a corner. Shortly after the other dangerous action of Prahova Muntenia with the free kick from the edge of the Romanian captain Micu who passes not far from the post. A few minutes from the end of the first half, a great opportunity for NAT San Marino with Ciacci who kicks well from the edge but Preda responds well and denies the joy to the young San Marino player. We go to rest with white nets.
At the beginning of the second half, the Romanian team gets close to the advantage: NAT San Marino’s rear guard does not remove the threat and so Tintaru takes advantage of it, his shot passes very close to the post to the right of Gentilini.
The game, however, is released shortly after: long throw from the rear of the Romanians who manages to break through the right side of the Titans, Nicolae checks well and once he gets face to face with Gentilini he stabs him for 1-0.
Bizzotto’s biancoazzurri, however, did not give up and after a few minutes they immediately found a draw: contact at the edge of the area between Micu and Pesaresi, for the referee it is a penalty kick on which Mema appears who after scoring from eleven meters in the match against the Bulgarians repeats himself and beats Preda for the 1-1.
A few minutes pass and in the 19th minute Bizzotto’s team is even close to the advantage: a perfect cross by Ciacci from the right and Pesaresi kicks well, a ball that pinches the top of the crossbar. The white and blue are coming to Comuniello and the new entrant tries but just hits inside the area. But the exterior of the Murata redeems itself immediately and in a big way why with a lob he first manages to jump the goalkeeper then checks and bags the goal of 2-1 unguarded that drives the whole team crazy.
The NAT, however, continues to push and also finds the third goal: from a corner, Oprea brings the ball his own and is 3-1 for Bizzotto’s team. After the third goal, the Romanian team pushes forward and leaves room for the restarts of the San Marino team. On two occasions, first Ciacci – but offside – then Dormi did not round the result. In the last minutes, however, the game reopens again: from a corner kick Prahova Muntenia finds the 3-2 goal in the 86th minute thanks to Anghel who solves it in melee. Bizzotto’s team holds and on the counterattack does not find the safety goal with Mema. But after four minutes we can celebrate. NAT San Marino finds a precious victory, also for the ranking, and closes the intermediate round with 4 points behind only Ireland (which closes with full points and qualifies). A fair prize for the guys from Bizzotto who played a more than positive tournament in Bulgaria and with the conquest of competing even with bigger nations.
