Winner of his first four National 3 matches, theAvant Garde Caennaise had to settle for one point, Saturday October 29, 2022 against Gonfreville (1-1). The Caennais had however opened the scoring by Toufic Sabri in the first period. They were logically joined by their opponents in the second half. AG Caen retains first place in the standings with one match more than Vire, who will play this Sunday, October 30, 2022 against Le Havre Caucriauville (R2) in the Coupe de France.
Olivier Meurillon, coach of AG Caen: “We were not up to the occasion. We didn’t play the game we needed, so the score is completely logical. We didn’t deserve better. It is the attitudes that have failed us. We did not recognize the team that made this start to the season. On the whole match, we are doing almost well. I’m not disappointed with the result because we couldn’t have hoped for better. I am disappointed with the content. Gonfreville took advantage of a very, very mediocre AG Caen. I did not recognize my team, both in the game and in behavior. I don’t have the reasons. We remain undefeated and we will try to stay that way. »
