Palfinger: Less profit with record sales
Business
The Salzburg crane manufacturer Palfinger reports a sales report, but at the same time a decline in profits. Profits are being depressed by the war in Ukraine, among other things, but the company’s success is assured in view of the full order books, they say.
The listed company based in Bergheim has turned over almost 1.6 billion euros since the beginning of the year – almost a fifth more than in the same period in 2021.
The bottom line is a good ten percent less profit, namely 112.5 million euros after three quarters. Problems in the supply chain and high energy costs have depressed profits, says Palfinger CEO Andreas Klauser. “Among other factors, high inflation in particular had a negative impact on our profit.”
“Production fully utilized until autumn 2023”
Klauser emphasizes that inflation is now flexibly included in purchase contracts. “We introduced dynamic pricing, which both our customers and retailers have now accepted. It is more important to them to get the products delivered on time.”
This ensures full order books. On average, production in the Palfinger factories worldwide will be utilized until autumn 2023. adds Klauser.
