In support of the women of Iran, a rally is proposed in Avignon
Iran is rising since the tragedy of a young woman who died for wearing a veil. Solidarity with this movement for freedom and dignity, seize the associations of Vaucluse are mobilizing and organizing a rally this Saturday at 11 a.m., in Avignon.
“In the demonstrations, we shoot them” denounces Ahmed Dahmani, president of the Human Rights League in Avignon-Carpentras. “We are interested in what is happening in the world. Where rights are violated, we react”.
In Iran, the repression of protests has left at least 141 dead, according to a report by the NGO Iran Human Rights.
While the Iranians are demonstrating, risking their lives, people from all over the world are coming together to express their support.
“Individual and collective freedoms are flouted, these are the two main principles defended by the League of Dkings of man from the beginning”recalls Ahmed Dahmani, “The Iranians of France are particularly sensitive to demonstrations of solidarity”.

“We denounce the fierce repression by Iran’s dictatorial theocratic regime of protesters who take to the streets for equality, social justice and the freedom not to wear the veil, to express themselves and to choose their lives. We We denounce the fact that women are subject to the control of their bodies, in particular the obligation to veil themselves and to make themselves invisible. Their freedom. We ask the French government to break its silence.”
