Fortunately, the faithful of the Halle Saint-Jean-Eudes have been warned. A table tennis match, we know when it starts, never when it ends. It was exactly 11:32 p.m. when Antoine Hachard scored the final point of the last meeting which pitted him against Horacio Cifuentes. The fight had lasted precisely four hours. Caen TTC pocketed the three points of victory at the expense of Chartres, who left with two units on the clock (3-2).
Caen has come close to the catamaran
The four hours of combat will have seen Caen go through all the emotions. After the very small match of Niagol Stoyanov – preferred to Stéphane Ouaiche – against Bence Majoros, the Caennais were down 2-1. They were on the precipice a few minutes later when Wang Yang, manhandled by the very good Victor Ishiy, was forced to save two match points. The Slovak had been bludgeoned in the first two sets, to the point of being led 11-3, 7-1. We then do not offer a lot of his skin, before he adapts his first ball to find new solutions.
Ishiy has always played well against Yang. The boys know him well now, or there is no bad player in Pro A. It doesn’t have much to do with it…
Antoine Hachard solid
By turning the situation around, Wang Yang allowed Caen to equalize and put Antoine Hachard in orbit. The Parisian however suffered at the start of the match against Horacio Cifuentes (7-3), but he then took the measure of his opponent brilliantly. “He was way too nervous in his first match (lost 3-1 against Victor Ishiy, editor’s note). It was not in his habits. He regained all his lucidity and calm during his second match. He had to to hold his sound. »
Antoine Hachard awarded the decisive third point, completing Wang Yang’s two previous wins.
It’s a great victory, especially since it follows a first defeat against Saint-Denis. We had to regain points against a very good team.
Caen is now preparing for a busy month of November with no less than five games. Qualification for the playoffs, the club’s objective, is already being played out in part this fall.
