Munich (dp/lby) – The advisory councils for those affected from all Bavarian dioceses met for the first time on Friday in Munich to deal with cases of abuse in the Catholic Church. The spokesman for the Munich Advisory Board, Richard Kick, criticized the meeting after the meeting, from the point of view of the affected activity of the dioceses in the search for cases of abuse. “The church isn’t proactive in working up,” Kick said. “If I take reappraisal seriously, then I have to do it,” he said. Instead, those affected would have to report themselves.
In addition, the willingness of the bishops to get involved in the processing varies. Munich’s Archbishop Reinhard Marx takes part in numerous meetings of the local advisory board – in other dioceses “hardly anything comes back” from the respective bishop, Kick criticized. He named the Archdiocese of Bamberg as a particularly striking example.
