Regionalliga Salzburg: Bischofshofen defeats St. Johann in the follow-up game
On the national holiday, the supplementary game from the 11th round of the Regionalliga Salzburg takes place in St. Johann. In the Pongau derby, the BSK from Bischofshofen defeated the hosts from TSV St. Johann 1-0. This means that the Bischofshofen leaders are once again at the top of the table.
ST. JOHN. On the national holiday, the Pongau derby in the Salzburg regional league took place in St. Johann. The Bischofshofener BSK was a guest in the Alpenarena of the district capital at TSV St. Johann. It was an addendum game from the 11th round that had to be canceled in September due to the weather.
Bischofshofen exploits mistakes coldly
Around 400 spectators watched the match between the two neighboring communities. The two teams provide the fans with a hard-fought party. Bischofshofen had the St. Johanner well under control over long stretches. In the 34th minute of the game, coach Andreas Fötschl’s team coldly exploited a mistake made by St. Johann in the game. A quick counterattack followed, which the Bischofshofen right winger, Konstantinos Chatzipirpiridis, successfully completed. The 21-year-old Greek was able to overcome the St. Johann goalkeeper and scored the decisive 1-0 for the guests.
Leadership for the BSK
As a result, TSV St. Johann only had their only significant action in injury time in front of the goal of SK Bischofshofen. All in all, the victory for the BSK was probably deserved. After 16 rounds played, all teams in the Regionalliga Salzburg have again played the same number of games. With their victory in St. Johann, the Bischofshofeners catch up with Austria Salzburg again and are again leaders in the table. At the weekend, the Fötschl team will meet the seventh-placed team from Golling at home. St. Johann received the eighth from USK Anif.
