FNE at the Slovenian Film Festival Portorož 2022: Kapa
PORTOROŽ: Slobodan Maksimović Cap / Cap broadcast in the competition program on the 25th Portorož Slovenian Film Festivalwhich will take place from October 25 to 30, 2022. The co-production of Slovenia, Luxembourg, Croatia and Slovakia is the first Slovenian Christmas film.
Erik is a 9-year-old boy who lives in a youth center because of his problematic parents. Beanie is his nickname. His only wish is to go home for Christmas. Instead, he comes on vacation with a rich family and their 7-year-old daughter Lucka, who wants a puppy and a little sister. In the middle of the night, Erik and Lučka meet Santa Claus in the family living room. Full of hope, they hide in his car, but Santa gets rid of them in the middle of town. This is the beginning of an extraordinary adventure.
“For me, working with Kaja and Gaj was a unique experience. When we started filming, I saw them as talented kids, but they ended up being amazing actors and great friends. I enjoyed their honesty, incredible performance and endurance every single day,” says director Slobodan Maksimović in a statement.
In addition to many well-known Slovenian film actors, the film stars young newcomers Gaj Črnič and Kaja Podreberšek.

The film will be distributed in Slovenian cinemas on November 17 Phoebe.
Sales are handled by Princ Films (USA).
Director Slobodan Maksimović (1975) was born in Sarajevo. He graduated in film directing at AGRFT. His short films have won more than 30 international awards. His feature debut Thanks for Sunderland (2012, production RTV Slovenia) received the award for the best Slovenian film. His second feature Nika (2016, production Production group Nora in co-production with RTV Slovenia), screened worldwide and won the award for best youth film Motovun Film Festival.
