World star with the legendary “Knight Rider” car KITT in Cologne
The red lights make the super car KITT world famous. Now David Hasselhoff drives through Cologne with a replica.
“Knight Rider” star David Hasselhoff visited KITT Germany with his legendary miracle car. With a big smile, the US actor (70) sat in Cologne on Monday at the wheel of the world-famous Pontiac Firebird Trans Am sports car from the 80s series – but it was a replica.
The reason for the appearance was the new streaming series “Ze Network” by director Christian Alvart (48), which is scheduled to start next Tuesday on RTL +. Hasselhoff plays himself in the action comedy. “The series is about how I came to Germany to rediscover myself as an actor in the theater,” says Hasselhoff.
In addition to “The Hoff”, Grimme prize winner Henry Hübchen (“Everything on sugar!”) and Netflix star Maximilian Mundt (26, “How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)”) can be seen. “In fact, he reminded me of my grandfather,” Mundt told the German Press Agency on the sidelines of the photo session. “It was surprising to come on set for the first time and know: okay, I’m shooting here, I’m facing a person who is known worldwide, and then suddenly it’s just a normal person.” But that also intimidated him. “It’s just two generations and two worldviews,” he said.
