This is the third of a cycle of debates promoted by SIC Notícias in collaboration with the Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation (FFMS) which aims to answer the question “What does Portugal need to grow?”
The production of science and knowledge, the ability to create new technologies and products, are increasingly decisive for growth economic. They are, in fact, the necessary condition for the transition to the ‘created in’ paradigm – which we talked about in the first debate -, that is, for the affirmation of an innovative Portuguese economy.
Despite the success stories, the study carried out by FFMS reveals that Portugal still has many resources in the areas of Innovation and Development.
Cládia Sarrico, professor of Economics and Management at the University of Minho, Nuno Mangas, president of the Compete2020 Program, Isabel Furtado, CEO of TMG Automotive, the second company in the car interiors sector at European level, were the main guest of the Especial Informação, and which has more than 20 patents of its own or in partnership, and Paulo Barradas Rebelo, CEO of Bluepharma, a reference company in the field of generics, very well launched in terms of its own patents, and whose growth is based on innovation and investigation.
