approved the project for the construction of the connection to the historic center through the Court of Relief of Castel Sismondo
From via Circonvallazione Ovest to the historic center through a pedestrian path that will cross the greenery, you will immerse yourself in the history witnessed by the walls of the Malatesta castle and in the contemporary culture that is found in the signs of Maestro Federico Fellini. The work of the Municipal Administration aimed at enhancing cultural spaces continues with another intervention intended to change the perception of one of the symbolic places of the city: in the last municipal session, the Municipal Council approved the project for the creation of a new path wooden pedestrian walkway that will cross Castel Sismondo connecting the Corte di Mezzo where today you enter the exhibition path of the Fellini Museum in via Circonvallazione Occidentale, crossing the Corte del Soccorso.
The environmental intervention will therefore be to return to the city a passage that has long been precluded, offering a new connection that will increase accessibility to Piazza Malatesta, the Fellini Museum and the historic center, enhancing the historical heritage and starting from a little known and used space. like the Corte del Soccorso. The work will integrate with the walkway placed on the walkable lawn towards the south-western side of the Rocca, built as part of the works of the third section of the Fellini Museum and will be coordinated with the two paths that today offer access to the historic center from via Circonvallazione Occidentale, i.e. the one that occurs from the roundabout of Piazza Malatesta on the south-western side of the Rocca (which historically connected the court with the surrounding countryside) and from the ramp that leads to the Francesca da Rimini Arena and to the Corte a Mare. The project has received the favorable opinion of the competent Superintendency and will be built in such a way as to be removable, as well as respecting and enhancing the recently renovated lush turf inside the Corte del Soccorso.
The wooden walkway will be equipped with corten-colored poles and hemp ropes that will define the path for the visitor, the tourist and the citizen, who will also be able to learn information about the place through special communication totems that will serve to provide all the historical-archaeological information and the methods of use of the court for those who access it. The project involves an investment of around 39 thousand euros and will be entirely supported through a sponsorship that will be fully underwritten by the Rimini Cafè company. “This new opening of the castle towards via Circonvallazione is an element that strengthens the project that sees in the spaces of the history and culture of our city not beautiful places to see and admire, but urban spaces of relationship and meeting – comments the mayor Jamil Sadegholvaad – It will not be just a pedestrian path, but a real immersion in greenery and history, rediscovering and regaining possession of a corner of the city that years ago also hosted a summer festival of outdoor cinema. I can only thank Rino Mini, owner of the Rimini Cafè company, a sponsor and a person in love with Rimini and who will allow us to carry out this new precious intervention ”.
