San Marino. Paola & Icy win the silver medal at the 1st Cerveteri Dryland Race Trophy
Over 50 participants were challenged on the 4.1 km grassy course inside the Equihome Equestrian Center in Cerveteri in Lazio in the 1st Cerveteri Trophy organized by the FIMSS and valid as a qualifying test for the World Championships in Germany.
For the first time, the San Marino pairing Paola & Icy got involved in bikejoring. More precisely, it is an activity derived from mushing (excursions with sled dogs) and consists in the dog pulling a bicycle. He is hooked to a shock absorbed tow line to neutralize acceleration jerks and is supported by an “antenna” which prevents the dog from being injured in the spokes of the vehicle. The challenging ups and downs committed to a severe test the competitors, but the San Marino duo was able to achieve the route well, finishing in 2nd place.
“The first was good” admits Paola “It was a challenge with myself and together with Icy. Teaching them this new discipline, they were left by the surprise of learning speed. There were also some mistakes on her part in interpreting the route and on my part in managing the mountain bike, we were able to run continuously, always staying on track “.
