In 2021, immigration to Norway was as high as before the pandemic. There were 38,600 immigrants to Norway from countries outside the Nordic countries, 12,600 more than the previous year.
Immigration to Norway fell sharply during the pandemic, especially due to the travel restrictions that were introduced. These restrictions then put an effective stop to almost all immigration. It appeared from figures from Statistics Norway (SSB).
