On Saturday 29 October, on the occasion of the restoration of three works preserved inside the Archbishop’s Palace, HE Mons. Giovanni Paolo Benotto will once again open the historical rooms of the building to the public with 4 free guided tours.
The restoration, entirely financed with the contribution of the Pisa Foundation and carried out under the High Surveillance of the ABAP Superintendency of Pisa, involved a 16th century panel of the Tuscan school depicting the Madonna enthroned with baby Jesus and saints, and two 18th century canvases, dedicates to the Trinity and saints and to San Luigi Gonzaga. While the conservative intervention of the painted panel was carried out by the restorer Anna Triani, the restoration of the canvases was carried out by Elena Burchianti and Elisa Todisco.
On the same occasion, the restoration of a fifteenth-century panel attributed to the School of Benozzo Gozzoli, carried out by the restorers of the Opera della primaziale Pisana, will be presented.
The visits are free and will take place on Saturday 29 October according to the following schedule: 9:30 – 11:00 – 15:30 – 17:00. The limited number access makes reservations OBLIGATORY starting from 24 October and subject to availability, by writing to the email address: [email protected].
