Adnet bought the cutting from Eugendorf
“It was the expected difficult away game in catastrophic pitch conditions,” groaned Daniel Reischl. The Eugendorfer trainer was still able to celebrate in the 12th minute when Pichler scored with the first chance to take the lead. While the Flachgauer tried unsuccessfully with the fine blade in the further episode, highly motivated Adneter relied more on long wood, only to attack the so determined second balls. “We couldn’t cope with that at all. The opponent was much better in the game,” admitted Reischl. After all, it wasn’t far-fetched that Adnet equalized the lead of the guests. After a corner kick, Sparber was spot on and netted the deserved 1-1 equalizer (20′). “The first half was really good,” said home coach Thomas Heissl, who was delighted with his boys’ performance.
Heissl: “Would have deserved the win”
After the fifteen-minute breather, the Eugendorfers stepped up and again went in front relatively early: Adnet-Schliessmann Stauder was able to steer a Feldinger-Köpfler to the crossbar, but he was powerless when Auinger rebounded – 1:2 (55th). Similar to the first round, the locals managed to take away the strengths of the Eugendorfers with their cheeky attacking pressing. After Captain Widl had fouled Nestaval from the penalty spot and scored the tie, both camps still had a great chance of winning in the final act. After a counterattack, King put the marble just past the post, over there Moser shot the ball into the Adnet night sky from a promising position. “I think he missed the ball. It felt like it chased him ten meters over the hut,” said Reischl. While Eugendorf was ultimately able to live well with the one point, Heissl had both a laughing and a crying eye: “Of course we’re happy to take the point against a strong opponent, but I think we deserved the win.”
