The Verkhovna Rada condemned Iran for supporting Russian aggression
The Verkhovna Rada adopted a resolution condemning Iran for facilitating Russian armed aggression against Ukraine. 303 deputies voted for this resolution.
The People’s Deputy added that it is not about breaking diplomatic relations, but only about condemnation.
And so, the resolution was adopted:
- emphasizes that Iran’s decision to supply weapons to the Russian Federation places responsibility on Iran for traces of armed aggression against Ukraine;
- notes that the supply of weapons by Iran to the Russian Federation supports bilateral relations between Ukraine and Iran;
- notes that Iran’s supply of weapons is inconsistent with United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2231 (2015);
- calls on Iran to stop supplying any weapons to the aggressor state – the Russian Federation;
- calls on the world community to urgently take all possible measures to stop Iran’s supply of weapons to the Russian Federation, and if Iran refuses to stop such supplies, to impose sanctions;
- calls on the governments and parliaments of foreign countries to contribute to the significant strengthening of Ukraine’s defense capabilities, in particular, to inappropriately strengthen Ukraine’s capabilities in the field of anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense.
People’s deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko also published the resolution in his Telegram.
