The competition takes place in France, between Thursday and Sunday
Portuguese Paralympic Telmo Pinão will represent Portugal at the Track Paracycling World Championships, at the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Velodrome, France, between Thursday and Sunday, the Portuguese Cycling Federation (FPC) announced today.
The Portuguese paracyclist will compete in the one kilometer time trial, in the individual pursuit and in zero, all in the C2 class, and the results ‘accumulate’ for the general omnium table, here with a different way of cycling.
Telmo Pinão enters the competition on Thursday, competing in 200 meters with a throw start, followed by the time trial on Friday, before Saturday will run exclusively the individual pursuit and on Sunday the zero.
In addition to improving their personal records, the integration of scratch and omnium in paracycling leads the Portuguese to have “a learning opportunity” here, arriving at the World Cup having overcome a health problem in the last week, says the coach, José Marques, quoted in a statement from the FPC.
Pinão, who was in Tokyo2020, will now compete at the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines velodrome, which will be the home of the slope in Paris204 and which last week20 hosted the Track Cycling World Championship, with two bronzes for Portugal, by Maria Martins (omnium) and Ivo Oliveira (individual pursuit).
