Prize: “Martha Weiser Social Prize” for committed people
Martha Weiser from Salzburg becomes a dedicated to the social prize. Scholarships and prize money in the social sector are awarded under her name. Granddaughter Barbara Weiser supports the award on behalf of her grandmother.
SALZBURG. The Salzburg Aid Organization and the Seebrunner District will be awarding a joint prize for the first time next year. The “Martha Weiser Social Prize” is to be awarded on March 8, 2023.

“Martha Weiser was born in 1913. In 1959, the then governor of Salzburg, Josef Klaus, brought her into the Salzburg state parliament. A short time later she became the first city councilor to be elected to the Salzburg city government. Her commitment to social affairs, the people in the city and It is also legendary for art and still has an impact today,” says Brigitta Pallauf, President of the State Parliament.

Weiser’s granddaughter is very supportive of the award on behalf of her grandmother: “We always helped the weak, no matter who it was and no matter what time it was. That connected me,” says Barbara Weiser.
