When Ukraine switches to winter time – I and the law
Every fall and winter in Ukraine, the clock is changed. In the fall of 2022, the country will also traditionally switch to winter time.
Change the start year from 1981. They do this for two reasons: because of the traditions of compliance with the biological calendar time and to save electricity. It should be noted that on March 19, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine could finally cancel the change of clocks in Ukraine to summer time, but this did not happen.
He writes about the transition of Ukraine to winter time NV.
When the clocks are switched to winter time in Ukraine
The transfer of clocks to winter and summer time in Ukraine is determined by the government resolution “On the procedure for calculating time in the territory of Ukraine” dated May 13, 1996. Based on this, changing the clock twice a year is fixed by law.
The clock will need to be changed to winter time on the last Sunday of October (on the night of October 29-30) at exactly 04:00. The time must be moved back a year, due to the fact that in winter dawn comes later and dusk comes earlier than in summer. In Crimea, as well as in parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, local time is used without seasonal clock change.
Why changing the clock is dangerous for health
“After moving the clock hands, citizens’ well-being worsens, work capacity decreases, and chronic diseases worsen significantly,” says First Vice-Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk. In addition, scientists have concluded that the transition to winter time is the greatest danger for people who are suffering from depression or developing diseases of the cardiovascular system. For results research by Swedish doctors from the Karolinska Institute in Solnain the first days after changing the clock, the number of heart attacks and the number of suicides increases. American scientists I also strongly recommend against changing the clocks. It is also emphasized that the number of road accidents increases during the winter period.
How to independently prepare for the transition to winter time
Try to spend more time outdoors.
Ventilate the room – it will help saturate the brain with oxygen.
Warm up your muscles in the morning.
Use a moderately filling breakfast to start the body.
Start changing your sleep pattern – two weeks before October 30, change the time you get up in the morning and go to bed.
Try to protect yourself from severe stress.
Watch your diet – healthy and tasty food will bring no less benefit than a good sleep.
What will be the time difference with other countries where Ukrainians went
In the world, 78 countries out of 239 will still try summer and winter time. Clock transfer ends in 2022 in the following countries: EU countries, Israel, Iran, Australia, Mexico, Great Britain, USA, Canada. Many Ukrainians are still abroad due to the full-scale war launched by Russia on February 24, 2022. In order not to get confused about the time and to know what time it is now for your parents, friends and colleagues, we calculated how the time of Ukraine and other countries differ after the clocks are switched to winter time.
