Hnúšťan represented Slovakia at the WC in kickboxing, won a bronze medal
HNÚŠŤA – At the beginning of October (October 1 – 8), the Slovak kickboxing team competed at the World Cadet and Junior Kickboxing Championships in the Italian city of Lido di Jesolo. 2,600 competitors from 63 countries fought for the titles of world champions.
18-year-old Juraj Hrivnák – a member of the Kick-box club Leon Hnúšťa – represented the Slovak national team in the category K1 – 71 kg.

On October 1, the representative of Hnúšte started a match with the Hungarian representative Ladover Barn. “Juraj was excellently prepared and after a really good performance won easily in the 3rd round by the referee’s decision after expecting the opponent,” the head of the Kick-box club Leon Hnúšťa Jozef Vranec approached.
The next day Juraj’s opponent was the Turk Szigen Cumali. “Juraj also dealt with him playfully and won right away in the 1st round, when he gave the Turk a technical KO and advanced to the halfway point, where the tall Pole was waiting for him.”
Juraj was already counted in the 1st round and it seemed that the opponent would already be beyond his strength. In the 2nd round, after the 2nd referee’s count, Juraj lost. Juraj finally won the bronze medal for Slovakia.
