On Sunday, a five-game winning streak ended for the Steinbach Black Wings Linz in the 2:5 home defeat against Vienna. HC TIWAG Innsbruck – Die Haie won all of the last three games and is now back in second place in the table. The Black Wings follow in third place, just one point behind. The great strength of the “Haie” is once again the offensive. With 35 goals scored, they currently have the most goals of any team in the win2day ICE Hockey League and have already scored ten more goals than the Black Wings, with one game fewer. With Adam Helevka and Brady Shaw, two Innsbruck players lead the points classification with twelve points each. The Tyroleans are also at the top in the power play with 38.71%. The first pursuer, Salzburg, holds with a yield of 34.78%. This season, both teams faced each other on October 1st. The Black Wings clearly prevailed 5:2 away. After two thirds, they were already leading 4-0. Both Brian Lebler and Shawn St. Amant scored twice. Rasmus Tirronen, who was injured last, will be back in the Stahlstädter squad on Tuesday. The Finnish goalkeeper has missed the last five games with a lower body injury.
Tuesday, October 18, 2022, 7:15 p.m.: EC iDM heat pumps VSV – Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey
Referees: GROZNIK, TRILAR, Hribar, Snoj
After a successful performance in the Continental Cup, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey returns to the win2day ICE Hockey League on Tuesday. With three wins from three qualifying games, they confidently advance to the next round, which is scheduled for the end of November in Nitra, Slovakia. In the ICE, things have not yet been made to measure for the Italians. In seven games, the bottom of the table only managed one win, right at the start of the season in Graz. They were challenged against the EC iDM heat pumps VSV this season on September 24th. The “Adler” kept the upper hand with 5:3. Player of the game was defender Philipp Lindner, who scored twice for the first time. Overall, Villach has four wins from eight games this season, which currently means eighth place in the table. On the last day of the game, they narrowly beat Pustertal 1-0 at home. The game was shaped by goalkeeper JP Lamoureux, who was able to parry all 37 shots on his goal and was thus voted win2day’s top performer of the weekend. New signing Anthony Luciani will not be in action on Tuesday. The Canadian should be in the VSV lineup for the first time on Friday in Innsbruck.
