Schlotterer: Next steps in the expansion project
Business
Sun protection manufacturer Schlotterer in Adnet (Tennengau) is beginning the next steps in the company’s controversial expansion project. The nature conservation measures are to start in October.
After the decision of the municipal council of the municipality of Adnet to agree to the partial change in the zoning plan and to rededicate part of the Adnet fields, the next steps in the expansion project of the Schlotterer company follow. In the coming months, the legal procedures are to be carried out – according to nature conservation law, commercial law and building law. The company reported this in a broadcast on Monday.
Nature conservation measures from October
In October, bat boxes are set up as winter quarters for the expansion project in Adnet. In the forest between the Wiestaler Landesstraße and the Adnet fields, individual roost trees are observed, marked and, if necessary, felled, removed and stored on the possible Adnet fields. Hedges and shrubs should be planted on compensation areas, and heaps of branches and rocks should be created for insects and other animals. In November, another geothermal test probe bore will be carried out for the detailed planning of the geothermal probe field.
According to Schlotterer, the expansion of the company should create around 750 new jobs by 2035 and then around 1,350 people will be employed by the company. The investment volume planned for Adnet is 120 million euros.
