“The pension reform is more sustainable”, the unions announce the general strike
After a week of meetings, the three trade unions, CSdL CDLS and USL, highlight “too many empty“in the draft law on pension reform which, enter in a note, “refers the most salient issues to the future“.
“I am an example – you write – the withdrawal from pension funds which can be said to be compulsory as it is not agreed annually with the trade unions and not included in the context of a growth in the contribution of the State, and the absence of the Fondiss reform“. The unions also highlight, as main points of friction, i very high disincentives for those who opt for early retirement, measures for inadequate mothers and the lack of possibility to redeem the years ofUniversity. From here the announcement of a general strike that will happen in conjunction with the second reading of the pdl in the Great and General Council of Novemberfor which the date has not yet been set.
Also in the sights amendments “brought to committee without any prior confrontation” including that relating to the blocking of the indexation of pensions which, for the trade unions, “constitutes a real provocation”.
CSdL CDLS and USL are also very critical on the draft law on the labor market “of which – they write – there was no need to be at historic lows, and which would have made sense if it had intervened on the quality of employment, meeting the needs of fragile workers and women”.
“One cannot remain silent – end the note – in front of the one that tastes like one challengenot so much to the union, but to the people it represents: the general strike becomes the necessary reaction. Preventive reform involves everyone: who is already retired, who is going to go there, who will go there in the future. Unacceptable hence his failure to share“.
