Ems Tor Festival at the start of the season – Hohenems
At the start of the new season of the Austrian ice hockey league, SC SAMINA Hohenems celebrated a confident 10:1 home win.
Hohenems. Fantastic autumn weather in the Hohenems ice rink and also on the ice, a fast-paced game between SC SAMINA Hohenems and the young sharks from Innsbruck is preparing from the start.
Score at the end of the first third
The young people from Innsbruck did not show themselves to be different from the experienced Emsers and so the Haie had good chances right from the start. Ems keeper Matthias Fritz was able to defuse the shots from the Tyroleans, however, and so the hosts got into the game better and better. Thomas Auer broke the spell in the 12th minute and gave the Steinbocks the lead. Martin Grabher Meier increased three minutes later to 2:0 and only 18 seconds later Thomas Auer made it 3:0. Towards the end of the first period, Marcel Wolf and Johannes Hehle provided a comfortable 5-0 lead at the first break with a double strike within 55 seconds.
Sharks in front of the gate too harmless
In the second period, the hosts slowed down the game a bit, while the Innsbruckers continued to fight self-sacrificingly. Marcus Massimo used a margin in a quick counterattack and netted for the guests for the first time. But the people of Hohenems were also able to celebrate twice more in the middle section and made Lukas Fritz and Johannes Hehle 7:1 within 54 seconds. Of course, the game was decided a long time ago, but it still remained very fast. The Tyroleans made it into the opposing third again and again, but the Haie remained too harmless in front of the Emser Tor. The Steinbocks did better and so Julian Grafschafter netted twice and made it 9-1 before Lukas Fritz made the score in double digits for the hosts three and a half minutes before the end with his second goal.
Hohenems has to go to the master in Wattens
The HSC thus celebrated a sovereign 10-1 win and is the leader of the West Group after the end of the first day of play. However, a somewhat difficult chunk awaits Kainz and Co. next Saturday – the HSC will be guesting with the reigning ÖEL champions in Wattens. The people of Kristallstadt had to admit defeat in Kufstein on the first day of the game, so we can look forward to an exciting duel. MIMA
