San Marino. Thirty years of official relations with Croatia: today the celebratory day
The day celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of official relations with the Republic of Croatia took place today in Zagreb.
The Secretariat of State for Foreign Affairs announced this, specifying that the initiative was “organized by the Ambassador of the Republic of San Marino in Croatia, SE Marina Emiliani, in collaboration with the Interparliamentary Friendship Group between Croatia and San Marino and the support from Banka Kovanica.
The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Luca Beccari, who arrived in the morning with a diplomatic delegation in tow, met his counterpart Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlić Radman with whom, as part of a tête-à- tête, developed the themes of the bilateral relationship by sharing the opportunity to continue to further strengthen relations between the two countries, also in the context of the European Strategy for the Adriatic Ionian Region (EUSAIR).
Another key theme dealt with during the bilateral meeting was the negotiation of an Association Agreement with the European Union, with respect to which Croatia has always offered and continues to offer effective support to San Marino. Croatia has also shown its full support for San Marino to be involved in the European Political Community, also in consideration of the current international scenario.
During the interview, the two counterparts discussed the agenda and the exchange of similar positions to face the global against the international conflict in Ukraine.
The morning continued with the signing, by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs with the counterpart Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, of two specific Memorandums of Understanding relating, respectively, to political consultations and cooperation in the cultural sectors. , of education, higher education and scientific research, also in the presence of the Secretary of State for Culture, Andrea Belluzzi, already in Zagreb since the previous day for institutional meetings and of the Undersecretary of State at the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media , Krešimir Partl.
In the afternoon the San Marino delegation is transferred to the seat of the Croatian Parliament, for a meeting with the Vice President of the Parliament, Željko Reiner, in the presence of the President of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group between Croatia San Marino, Paolo Rondelli and the President of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Croatian Parliament, Gari Cappelli.
This was followed by the long-awaited San Marino Choral Concert entitled “Songs for Friends”, in the prestigious Hall of the Academy of Arts and Sciences, introduced by welcome speeches by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Luca Beccari, of the ‘Ambassador Marina Emiliani, the President of the Friendship Group Paolo Rondelli, the representative of Banka Kovanica, Nicola Ceccaroli, main sponsor of the cultural initiative and Croatian institutional representatives.
