MoraBanc Andorra went over Albacete Basket
MoraBanc Andorra passed through the Pabellón del Parque like a cyclone on the third day of the LEB Oro League in which Bueno Arenas Albacete Basket could hardly put up any resistance in the first quarter of the match.
The Andorran team, probably the top contender to return to the ACB league after being relegated a few months ago, confirmed the great quality of its squad and the difficulties of the opponent to sink their teeth into it on a bad day, which in reality gas
And that the beginning of the meeting was frankly promising for David Varela’s team, even with the sensitive loss of Jorge Mejías for reasons still unknown.
Andorra entered on the wrong foot, and the locals took advantage of them, who made a parish that filled the pavilion enjoy. With the usual choral basketball in the game and scoring, the green and blacks circulated the ball quickly, penetrated with relative ease and were accurate in the shot, which even led them to enjoy an 11-point advantage (22-11) in the last minute, which was reduced to six (22-16) at the end of this first quarter.
Nacho Lezcano’s team had already woken up, and they did so explosively at the start of the second quarter until they equalized in less than two minutes and began to make the first differences with an unstoppable Maric who turned the scoreboard with a great personal balance (16 points in the fourth) completed by Speight with two consecutive baskets that brought David Varela’s volunteer team back to reality. At the break the company was practically impossible (33-47).
Even so, Albacete Basket came out with renewed vigor after the break and the difference fell below 10 points thanks to the success of the shot, especially by an inspired Gerard Blat (51-58 in the final stretch of the fourth). The overwhelming inferiority of Albacete in the internal game dominated by Maric and Dos Anjos was balanced by triples, a challenge that the visitors accepted to settle the discussion with three consecutive Dee and Andric that resulted in an insurmountable difference (51-69) with 10 minutes to play.
The last quarter was a formality and left over from the beginning. Albacete Basket was used with dignity and already little faith to reduce the difference to some acceptable figures, but the resources of Andorra’s pivots and the continuous long-distance shots transformed were fattening the margin of points until reaching thirty.
Albacete Basket thus suffered its second defeat of the season, which is not a serious setback given the difference between the two clubs in every way.
What was comforting was the behavior of the two fans that gathered at the Park Pavilion, who reciprocally chanted the name of their opponent on several occasions.
