Coronavirus, 288 new cases in Pisa and the province
In Tuscany there are 2,373, a regional positivity rate of 18.1%. More hospitalizations, less intensive care. 12 deaths, 2 in the Pisa area
There are 2,373 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in the last twenty-four hours in Tuscany: 407 were confirmed with molecular swab and the other 1,966 with rapid test. The number of infected people detected in the region since the beginning of the pandemic therefore rises to 1,437,935. New cases are 0.2% more than the previous day’s total. Healed grow by 0.1% (1,826 people) and foresees a quota of 1,377,112 (95.8% of total cases).
The data, relating to the progress of the pandemic, are those ascertained today on the basis of the requests of the Civil Protection.
At the moment in Tuscany they are therefore 49,959 positives+ 1.1% compared to yesterday. Of these 478 (12 more than yesterday) are hospitalized: 19 (2 fewer) are in intensive care.
The list of deaths is updated with 12 new deaths: 4 men and 8 women with an average age of 83.6 years.
Since the last daily bulletin, 1,298 molecular swabs and 11,833 rapid antigenic swabs have been performed: of these 18.1% tested positive. On the other hand, 3,331 subjects were tested, excluding the control swabs: 71.2% of these tested positive. The average age of the 2,373 new positives is approximately 56 years (7% are under 20, 13% between 20 and 39, 31% between 40 and 59, 36% between 60 and 79, 13% are 80 years or more).
The trend by province
With the latest cases, the positives rise to 390,289 since the beginning of the emergency in the municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Florence (573 more than yesterday), 95,639 in the province of Prato (141 more), 113,238 in Pistoia (181 more), 72,697 in Massa Carrara (152 more), 154,024 in Lucca ( 299 more), 166,875 in Pisa (288 more), 130,362 in Livorno (224 more), 131,106 in Arezzo (183 more), 103,662 in Siena (176 more) and 79,488 in Grosseto (156 more). To these must be added 555 positive cases reported in Tuscany but concerning residents in other regions.
There are 921 new reports in the Central Local Health Authority, 937 in the North West, 515 in the South East.
Tuscany is in 10th place in Italy in terms of number of cases overall since the beginning of the pandemic (between residents and non-residents), with approximately 38,938 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 38,811 x100,000, yesterday’s figure). At the moment, the province of notification with the highest rate is Lucca (with 40,115 cases per 100,000 inhabitants), followed by Pisa (39,924) and Livorno (39,624). The lowest concentration is found in Prato (with a rate of 36,054).
49,481 are in isolation at homebecause they have symptoms that can no longer be cured in hospital or are symptom-free (523 compared to more symptoms yesterday, 1.1%).
The 1,377,112 healed registered to date are in all respectsfrom a viral point of view, certified with negative swab.

With regard to the province of residence, the deceased people are: 5 in Florence, 2 in Lucca, 2 in Pisa2 in Arezzo, 1 outside Tuscany.
10,864 people have died since the beginning of the epidemic: 3,422 in the metropolitan city of Florence, 883 in the province of Prato, 977 in Pistoia, 687 in Massa Carrara, 1,016 in Lucca, 1,219 in Pisa, 817 in Livorno, 702 in Arezzo, 580 in Siena, 405 in Grosseto. 156 people who died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region must be added.
The raw mortality rate for Covid-19 (number of deaths / resident population) is currently 294.2 per 100,000 residents, compared to 300.1 x100,000 for the Italian average. Tuscany is 9th among the regions. As for the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (361.9 per 100,000 inhabitants), followed by Florence (342.7 x100,000) and Pistoia (336.6 x100,000), while the lowest is in Grosseto (185.9 x100.000).
