A delegation from the Chamber takes part in PACE meetings in Strasbourg…
AMMAN – A parliamentary delegation, led by MP Abeer Jabour, has taken part in the meetings of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which are currently being held in Strasbourg, France, according to the Jordanian news agency Petra .
During its participation in the deliberations of various committees, the delegation reviewed the overall reform process that Jordan is implementing under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the achievements made at different levels.
The delegation highlighted the challenges that Jordan is facing due to various refugee crises, which require the support of the international community for Jordan to continue its humanitarian and moral role in this regard.
Regarding the legislation approved by the Jordanian Parliament to achieve an “effective” party life and a parliament based on programmatic blocs, the delegation said that the Lower House had so far approved constitutional amendments and electoral laws and on political parties to strengthen the role of young people and women in political life.
For their part, many PACE members commended Jordan’s efforts, under its wise leadership towards humanity, praising its ability to overcome challenges in an unstable region ravaged by conflict and underlined their welcome and continuity in supporting the partnership with the Jordanian Parliament.
The Jordanian Parliament has been a partner for democracy with PACE since 2016.
