Salzburg book days make you want to read again
From November 3rd to 8th you can experience the whole range of books as a cultural asset at the Salzburg Book Days. “A program that will stimulate the love of reading together. You can choose moving or heartfelt stories, join the discussion about a new canon in literature, be enchanted by works of language art or succumb to the excitement of crime novels,” says Klaus Seufer-Wasserthal, chairman of the book and media management group. There are author readings, book exhibitions and much more at various locations in the city of Salzburg.
Varied program
At the opening of the Salzburg Book Days on November 3rd, the bestselling author Hera Lind will present her latest novel “The Last Promise” at the WIFI Salzburg – a profound factual novel based on true events.
On Friday, November 4th, from 11 a.m., the “Krimi Helden Fest” will take place in the Krimi Helden bookshop. The next day, on November 5th, the old town of Salzburg is all about reading. From 11 a.m. on the Old Town Book Day there will be author readings in the Rupertus bookstore, the bookstores Motzko and Stierle and at other venues. A special focus is again this year on young readers at the children’s and youth book exhibition with readings by children’s and youth book authors from November 3rd at WIFI Salzburg. 2,500 children and young people take part every year. For the industry, the Salzburg Book Days are also the prelude to the Christmas business, during which the importance of the book trade is to be highlighted. “Because bookstores are the local suppliers for the heart and soul,” emphasizes Intellect Seufer-Wasserthal.
