Renovation in the house of nature: Salzburg reptile zoo closes due to construction work
Since 1982, the reptile zoo in the Haus der Natur has been recommended to locals and visitors from all over the world. The reptile zoo is now undergoing modernization, which will begin in November 2022. The work is expected to last about a year.
SALZBURG. In addition to improved energy efficiency, the aim of the modernization is to simplify work processes and give museum guests a new look. The entire technology of the zoo is to be brought up to date. The reptile zoo can be visited until November 6, 2022, after which the renovation work will begin, which should last until autumn/winter 2023.
During the conversion and construction phase, the animals spend time in the quarantine facility created for them.
Snakes, spiders and co. in the house of nature
The reptile zoo provided information about reptiles and amphibians and showed them up close. Some of the visitors lost their initial shyness when they could see a scorpion in its terrarium behind a safe glass wall.
However, large habitat terrariums are planned for the future. As the House of Nature informed, there should be more information about the reptiles and amphibians in a combination of terrariums and exhibition elements.
