25th Tyrolean Congress for Apprenticeship Trainers: “Diversity in Apprenticeship Training”
For the 25th time, the trainer forum, an initiative of the state of Tyrol, AK Tirol, WK Tirol and the ÖGB, invited to the Tyrolean Apprentice Trainer Congress on October 7, 2022. Host this year was the University of Innsbruck. Around 140 persons responsible for apprentices from all over Tyrol, South Tyrol and Bavaria accepted the invitation. HR managers, representatives of the social partners and vocational schools and various institutions join in to exchange experiences.
During five exciting guided tours, the congress participants were able to gain insights into university operations and history, and got to know various training centers for apprentices, such as the botanical garden, the world of libraries and the Institute for Chemistry and Biomedicine.
After the official opening of the congress, Karin Heinrichs, university professor at the PH Upper Austria, addressed the diversity in apprenticeship training as an opportunity and emphasized the key role that apprenticeship trainers play in developing the potential of future specialists.
The congress participants then had the opportunity to deal with actual training opportunities in the workshops, which were led by practitioners and experts. Topics such as gender stereotypes in apprenticeships, refugees in apprenticeship training, diversity in the company and inclusive talent management were also discussed.
The final item on the program is the ceremonial awarding of certificates and diplomas as part of the continuing education pass for apprentice trainers from the state of Tyrol. This year there were 26 awards that were given.
