To mitigate the impact of high energy prices, the government allocated a total of five euros, of which 1.5 billion this year and 3.5 billion next year.
The government will present the exact aid scheme for companies and organizations in a few weeks, probably in November. Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OĽANO) said this during Wednesday’s tripartite meeting on the state budget.
Heger’s words
“Our government allocated five euros to help fight the energy crisis. That’s five percent of gross domestic product (GDP),” Heger zoomed in. According to him, the other states move in the range of two to three percent when it comes to such aid.
“We will not leave anyone in the dark. For us, the highest priority is to manage, very well, and I think that cover five alone is a clear proof that I think so too.”
Heger said.
He added that the confidence in the delivery of aid is the approval of the state budget in the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic.
Exceptional budget
According to the Prime Minister, the prepared budget is exceptional. “It is a budget that is drawn up in an energy crisis that we have not had here since the Second World War, and Slovakia has not experienced such a situation as it is in.” said Heger. The presented material is not, according to the premiere, a standard budget in which the coalition political parties assert their priority.
According to the prime minister, the use of five euros will depend on the measures that he wants to start in the near future together with the Ministry of Economy, Karl Hirman.
In the draft of the new law on the budget for this year as well as in the proposal for the budget for 2023, this money is so far in the chapter of the General Treasury Administration, which was criticized by the opposition parties, including SaS.
