San Marino Yesica Menin Academy women’s football interview
A native of Argentina, she was able to realize her dream of playing football in a women’s club, arriving in Italy and always wearing the jersey of the San Marino Academy.
Discovering Yesica Menin, born in 1989, South American flag under the Titan team.
Hi Yesica, what are the values and motivations that prompted you to play football?
“Football has always been started present in my life, since I was a child when I went to see my brother play every Sunday, and this gave me a great passion for this sport, sharing this love for football with the whole family. Now being able to play in the team that welcomed me many years ago makes me proud every day because with this shirt I was able to make my dream come true ”.
An opinion on the environment, staff and teammates
“There is a calm and confident environment, the company is keen to do well, also giving us the right peace of mind that we need to work well. I have the feeling of seeing a very good team that can do well together, it takes time to compact and mesh, given that it is an almost new team with very young but very valuable players. We have an important staff, the coach is a person who knows the football environment very well, with a lot of experience behind him, and is helping us to improve and have a game identity ”.
Do you feel you have given or received more from the world of football?
“I am always of the idea that in life, as in sport, the more you give, the more you receive and in this football is the proof. I am a person who gives himself on and off the pitch and I will continue to do so, trying to be an example for the young players, hoping to convey an important message to them, namely that to get what you want you have to sacrifice yourself to anyone “.
The negative aspects that should be improved in women’s football
“If I think of football, I think first of all of its beauty as a sport, of the atmosphere that is created in the team, feeling part of an extended family. Obviously, however, there are some negative aspects, such as, for example, the little following of women’s matches, which then leads to little economic interest in this world. However, I am confident and I hope for the future that things will evolve positively ”.
