Portugal can raise a record €10.449 million from European funds in 2023
The Government anticipates that transfers to Portugal from the European Union are available with a new registration at 023. Next Generation EU.
In 2022, Portugal should receive 6247.2 million euros of European support.
According to estimates (continuation of the proposed Community State Budget for 2023, only the old highlight) should yield 4395.6 million in the next framework for the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Social Fund (ESF) and the European Fund Guarantee Agriculture (FEAGA).
From the ‘bazooka’, Portugal will be able to capture another 3672 euros, with emphasis on 3182.1 million in support under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
With the start of the new 2030 community framework, the country can receive another 2361 million euros, mainly in EAGF and ERDF funds.
In addition to EU funds and the European ‘bazooka’, there is also 19.7 million from the Brexit Adjustment Reserve (BAR).
Discounting the contribution of 2525.4 million euros to the EU budget, the positive balance for Portugal in 7923.6 million euros. In 2022, the forecast ‘profit’ is 3577.3 million euros.
It should be noted that the year 2023 is the first year of implementation of the envelopes of European funds and, above all, the last year of three implementations of Portugal 2020.
The O 2023 report reads that 2023 should “be marked by encouraging the execution and more complete presentation of projects, with a view to receiving the available funding, maximizing results and successfully completing a programming cycle”.
“As a closing plan, Portugal 2020 has as its second goal to reach 87% of execution by the end of 2022 and the absorption of the allocation in 2023”, confirms the Government in the OE 2023 presented at the Assembly of the Republic fair.
To speed up execution and prepare for a successful 2020 closing, the Government reactivated the so-called Portuguese Project Recovery Grant, which had been suspended following the COVID-19 pandemic.
