In Marseille, the L2 will be closed to traffic in both directions overnight from Wednesday to Thursday
Be careful if you have to take the L2, on the night of Wednesday to Thursday in Marseille. The ring road will be closed in both directions from 9 p.m. this Wednesday, due to a vast civil security exercise. A life-size traffic accident will be simulated in the Montolivet tunnel.
This exercise called NoVi, for “many victims” is piloted by the Bouches-du-Rhône prefecture in conjunction with the DIRMED (Interdepartmental Direction of Mediterranean Roads). It is a simulation of a traffic accident involving many people and many injuries.
L2 closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Thursday
This field exercise, played under real conditions, will start at 11 p.m. this Wednesday evening, but the L2 will be closed from 9 p.m. to reopen Thursday morning at 6 a.m. Large human resources will be deployed on site: firefighters, samu, hospitals… and the victims will be played by extras.
The “Orsec Numerous Victims” plan, which will be simulated on this occasion, is an emergency plan presented by the prefect of the department when it comes to rescue a large number of victims in one place. The whole rescue chain is involved. The aim is to test the response of the emergency services in the event of a major crisis on the L2 ring road, but also in addition to raising awareness among motorists on the good reflexes to adopt when driving in a tunnel.
Of course, it is required to do not circulate false information on social networks on the occasion of what is indeed an exercise. A message announcing the operation will be posted at the beginning of the evening this Wednesday on the social networks of the Bouches-du-Rhône prefecture.
