The School of Music of Andorra (Teruel) begins the course at its usual headquarters after soundproofing two of its classrooms
ANDORRA (TERUEL), 9 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Municipal School of Music of Andorra has started the new course at its usual headquarters, on Calle Agustina de Aragón, after last year soundproofing works were carried out in two of its classrooms.
Once the soundproofing works have been completed, the teachers of the music school have carried out the transfer of the material from the building of the old regional headquarters, where the classes were taught last year, they have indicated from the Andorran Consistory.
The director of the Municipal Music School, Ana Pallares, has pointed out that there are about 180 students who have started classes this week, in addition to all those people who participate in the different musical groups that exist in the town, who together add about 300 people.
Pallarés has reported that there are 12 teachers in charge of training different people, of various ages, who are inclined to train in the world of music.
On the other hand, from the management of the center they have lamented that after the COVID-19 pandemic, enrollments have suspected polyphonic and individualist instrument formations, such as the piano, keyboard, string or percussion instruments; while the number of those interested in wind instruments has been reduced.
This center offers classes on wind-metal instruments, percussion, music and movement, piano and keyboard, guitar, bandurria, transverse flute, traditional music, musical language, choir, vocal technique and music theory. In addition, it is in the school where musical groups such as the Music Band, the Laudistic Group or the Luis Nozal Choir rehearse.
CLASSROOM SOUNDPROOFING
The great novelty of this course is that it has two soundproofed classrooms, 4 and 6. Pallarés has pointed out that any center dedicated to music education requires this type of adequately soundproofed room.
The work carried out in these classrooms has involved an investment of 113,135 euros, including the complete acoustic insulation of the floor, walls and ceiling. Thanks to this improvement, noise levels, measured in A-weighted decibels, are no longer than 27 Db in the interior of the homes or premises, and noise levels are no higher than 45 Db on the street.
