The heating season is in jeopardy because of three problems that did not affect the disease
Due to the terrorist actions of Putin’s forces and the shutdown of the Zaporizhia NPP, Ukraine faced three problems on the eve of the heating season: record burning of coal at TPPs, emergency shutdowns of power units of state TPPs, and the need to stop electricity exports to the EU. About it on your Facebook page using director of energy programs of the Razumkov Center Volodymyr Omelchenko.
“Problem No. 1. The shutdown of the Zaporizhzhya NPP and the seasonal cooling dramatically increased the load on the capacity of other generations. Which were already sharply reduced due to the Russian occupation and destruction. And those that are, cannot prepare for the “new” realities. Language, first of all Their blocks now “take off” pleasantly,” the expert explains.
As a result, no more than 3 out of 13 available units are operating at the state generation. Nuclear power units are not in the “cage” either. Of the 9 available units, one is not working, another one is partially carrying the load.
“What is this to talk about? It is necessary to direct all forces and resources to the activation of repairs of power plant equipment. If this is not done, due to the heavy load, sooner or later those blocks that were prepared for winter will begin to “fly away”. NPP units and private TPPs,” Omelchenko clarified.
The second problem, he believes, arises from the fact that unavailable nuclear units have had to be compensated by available thermal generation units for a month now. Due to constant compensatory work, Ukrainian TPPs burn record volumes of coal – up to 100,000 tons every week.
“At such rates, it becomes obvious that Ukraine must look for additional coal. But where? Own production does not increase during the war, even in the short term. Here, at least, it would not reduce what is available. State production has fallen by a third, private production is holding “Even with blocked ports and record world fuel prices, you won’t be able to bring much from abroad,” he says.
The third problem, he believes, is that the shutdown of the Zaporizhzhya NPP will lead to a halt in the export of electricity to the EU.
The population of Ukraine is provided with an understanding of the complexities of the situation today. And how does it, this understanding, correlate with the real capabilities of people? How prepared are they for the heating season this year? Read about it in the material Mark Bayanov – “There will be no heat: options for switching to individual heating for Ukrainians”.
