Presidential election 2016
This is how Salzburg voted in the last federal presidential election in 2016:
In all districts reservation Van der Bellen too
Although Alexander Van der Bellen was only able to gain a majority in the city of Salzburg with more than 60 percent approval on election Sunday in December 2016, he was still able to gain ground in each of the 119 municipalities compared to the canceled runoff election in May 2016. Leogang with 59.6 percent and Elsbethen with 58.5 percent approval of the “professor” on the cartogram also turned really green.
Where Norbert Hofer won outstandingly
Even if Norbert Hofer had to lose feathers everywhere compared to the invalid result in May 2016, he is still ahead in 90 municipalities in the state. Hofer was able to mobilize voters the most in the Lungau municipality of Muhr with 84.5 percent (87.3 percent in May 2016), as well as in St. Andrä with 74.5 percent and Tweng, where the FPÖ politician gained 73.7 percentage points .
