Olympiaworld relies on photovoltaics – tirol.ORF.at
environment
In the course of energy-saving measures, the Olympiaworld in Innsbruck, including the Tivoli Stadium and the state sports center, will rely on photovoltaics. According to the city, in the foreseeable future 80 percent of the energy requirement can be covered by solar power.
There are many adjustments that are being made at Olympiaworld, in which the state and city of Innsbruck each have a half stake, in order to reduce energy consumption. Until now, this source of energy has been severely neglected in Tyrol, but now the aim is to catch up – more on this in Tyrol at the bottom of photovoltaic systems.
Tivoli lawn heating will probably run less often
Energy will be saved with a lower temperature in the buildings – from the offices to the TIWAG ice arena, the undersoil heating of the Tivoli stadium will also be severely limited, it said.
The sports and event center, which also includes the bobsleigh and toboggan run in Igls, will now increasingly produce its own electricity. In the course of the current investment program, it was examined whether large-scale photovoltaic systems were possible on the roof surfaces of the Olympic Hall, Tivoli Stadium and State Sports Center. And during the necessary conversion of the Igler ice track, it will be checked whether the first energy self-sufficient artificial ice rink in the world can be realized through the use of photovoltaics.
