NIO starts offering services in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- NIO hosted NIO Berlin 2022, a launch event in Europe under the theme “A New Horizon”, on October 7, 2022 (Germany Time), and announced that it will build a comprehensive operating system in four European countries, namely Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark , and Sweden.
The startup said it will start reservations of its three newest models – ET7, EL7 and ET5 – to consumers in the four mentioned countries through a flexible subscription model. Subscription users become members of the NIO user community.

NIO added that it will establish sales and service networks in these countries to directly serve its users. The NIO center in Berlin is about to open for business. In other cities, such as Hamburg, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Gothenburg, NIO Centers are under construction and will soon be operational.
In addition, NIO will further improve the expansion of its power network in Europe. The company said it has had access to 380,000 charging piles and its European charging map has also been deployed. It plans to deploy 20 battery exchange stations in Europe by the end of 2022, and increase the total number to 120 by the end of 2023.
The company aims to build 1,000 battery exchange stations outside of China by 2025, most of which will be in Europe.
In terms of R&D investment, NIO set up an innovation center in Berlin this year to work on R&D of intelligent cockpit, autonomous driving and energy technology. On September 16, NIO’s Power Europe Plant in Hungary delivered its first Power Swap Station to Germany. Notably, the NIO Power Europe Plant, as NIO’s first overseas facility, is the manufacturing, service and R&D center for NIO’s power products in Europe.
