Lions win before Worlds
3-5 win at AD Valongo’s home
Sporting Clube de Portugal’s main roller hockey team won, this Saturday, at AD Valongo’s home by 3-5 in the fifth game of the regular phase of the National Championship.
The home side opened the scoring in the eighth minute through Facu Bridge, but Alejandro Domínguez’s men quickly turned the score around. João Souto made it 1-1 and, two minutes later, Henrique Magalhães scored the second for the Lions.
In the 20th minute, Xico was shown the blue card and Ferran Font had the opportunity to increase Leonina’s free-kick advantage, but without success. Even so, the 1-3 didn’t take long, with Matías Platero scoring right away.
In the next minute, Gonzalo Romero also scored and Sporting CP went into the break with a three-goal lead in a very hostile environment.
In the restart, it was the home team that scored two goals almost in a row, first by Facu Navarro and then by Facu Bridge. 3-4 on the scoreboard with Gonzalo Romero, just 44 minutes, freehand, to score again and return a more comfortable lead to the Lions.
Six minutes to play with the scoreboard unchanged and Sporting CP adding three more points.
The Lions will only play again in mid-November against OC Barcelos at Pavilhão João Rocha. Now is the time for the World Cup, in which Tonzalo Sporting CP will be playing for Tonzalo Magalhães, or eight players: Ângelo Girão Henrique Henriquehães and João will be playing for Portugal Ferran Font eni Pérez from Spain and Matía Platero from Argentina and Alessandro Verona from Italy.
