“It was important for Portugal to build a museum of slavery here”

The award was, for the second consecutive year, given at the Folio – Festival Litório Internacional de Óbidos, at a table of authors in two young writers.
Filipe Daniel, mayor of Óbidos, announced in the northern session the intention to “reactivate an old library”, in the one in Mozambique, where Geremias José Mendoso intensified his taste for literature, but ended up closing.
“Óbido has many books, many titles to the collection, and we are happy to send contributions to Mozambique and reactivate the library that can be so important for many other young people who through this library can promote their collection through literature”, said the mayor. .
The Folio will take place on the 16th in 24 spaces in the town of Óbidos, in 11 days, around 300 authors from around ten countries, within the scope of the program that includes 16 exhibitions, 36 concerts, 14 authors’ tables, 62 presentations and releases of books, 16 workshops, in addition to gatherings, workshops and masterclasses and film sessions, among many other initiatives.
