EHC Lustenau loses to the Salzburg Young Bulls – Ice Hockey –
Again no points for EHC Lustenau in the away game against Salzburg Juniors.
Despite a good performance, EHC Lustenau had to admit defeat to Salzburg Juniors.
Right from the start, EHC Lustenau put in a very ambitious performance against the Salzburg Juniors. In an offensive game, both teams had chances for the opening goal. It was Salzburg who took a 1-0 lead through Oskar Maier in the 16th minute. Despite a few opportunities for Lustenau, the home side went into the first break with a narrow lead.
At the beginning of the second period, Lustenau had a few chances to equalize. In the 26th minute, Chirs D’Alvise scored a deserved equalizer in Lustenau, putting one man more on the ice. As a result, both teams had numerous chances for the opening goal. It was the hosts from Salzburg who celebrated Jakob Weber’s opening goal in the 32nd minute. After a foul on Mads Larsen, which was not punished by the referees, Lustenau had to do without the top defender for the rest of the game. Shortly before the end of the third, the Lustenau caused two questionable penalties and so the EHC Lustenau started the last part of the game with a double deficit.
With a lot of commitment and passion, the EHC survived this 3:5 deficit on the ice unscathed and was subsequently able to shape the game. Once again it was Salzburg who celebrated Max Jelavic’s next goal in the 48th minute. In the 52nd minute, Thomas Heigl increased Salzburg’s lead to 4:1. Nikolas Heigl scored Salzburg’s fifth goal in the 55th minute. The sixth goal for Salzburg by Thomas Heigl came after a clear foul on the Lustenau defender, but the quartet of referees allowed the goal after a brief discussion. This game ended with a clear 6:1 result for the Salzburg Juniors.
