Sweden’s female MP cuts her hair to support Iran’s anti-hijab movement
Stockholm: where is a hard movement against hijab in Iran. Muslim women in Iran take to the streets and burn their headscarves. At the same time, an Iraqi-born Swedish politician cut his hair during a debate in the EU Parliament in solidarity with anti-government protesters in Iran. Abir al-Sahalani gave a great speech about the oppression of Iranian women. They have demanded an unconditional and immediate end to all forms of violence against citizens. She has also called for women’s freedom in Iran.
During her speech to Sweden’s Riksdag, Sahalani takes out a pair of scissors and cuts off her ponytail and puts it in front of her, saying: “Until the women of Iran become independent, we will stand with them.” Mehsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman, was beaten by the police after she was arrested by Iran’s notorious police, after which she died. After this, Muslim women in Iran took to the streets and began to oppose the hijab. Mehsa was arrested because her body part was seen through her hijab.
As soon as news of Amini’s death spread, fierce protests began across Iran. Women across the country publicly protested the Islamic country’s strict rules on women’s dress by removing their headscarves and cutting their hair.
