Project “Cool-INN” awarded with VCÖ mobility prize – University of Innsbruck
The joint project “Cool-INN” announced by the City of Innsbruck and Innsbrucker Kommunalbetriebe AG (IKB) and implemented with the support of the University of Innsbruck and the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU) as well as the federal climate and energy fund was launched last week with the VCÖ Mobility Prize Austria awarded.
“Cool INN” was conceived as a model project for climate-friendly space design at so-called heat hotspots in Innsbruck. “I am very pleased that our commitment to climate protection has now been recognized and confirmed nationwide. The award is a compliment for the work of the numerous colleagues involved. They deserve a big round of applause,” said Uschi Schwarzl, City Councilor for Mobility and the Environment, who accepted the award on behalf of all project partners.
In addition to the IKB (water and energy supply design), the office for public participation (planning and conception), the office for green spaces (trees and plants), the office for civil engineering (replanning of street space Ing.-Etzel-Straße) were involved in the redesign of the exhibition park. , the office for traffic planning, climate protection strategies (overall traffic planning) and the Smart City office.
