The Minister of Finance and spokesman for the Government of Andorra, Eric Jover, delivered this Thursday to the Síndica General (president
Parliament), Roser Suñé, the draft budget for 2023.
Jover has stressed that it is “the first ordinary budget after Covid-19”, by complying with the provisions of the Law on the sustainability of public finances and budgeted and fiscal stability – known as the golden rule – and not requiring any complementary financial balance plan.
At the moment the figures that the Government has planned for next year’s accounts have not been specified, and the forecast is that Jover will give the details at a press conference next Monday.
At a press conference after the ministers this Wednesday, the executive spokesman explained that a deficit of 31 million euros has been forecast, which in no case exceeds the
limit of 1% of GDP set in the golden rule, and which is expected to be lower at the end of the year.
The accounts have been made based on an inflation of 4.5%, although it is expected that at the end of the year it could be higher, a fact that would be “acceptable”, according to the head of Finance.
Regarding indebtedness, by 2022 1,190 million euros are expected, 39.4% of GDP, but the Government’s forecast is that by 2023 the figure will be lowered and that the percentage will stand at 38.5%.
The draft budget, which will be the last of the current coalition government, has been delivered for the second consecutive year only in digital format (with a USB), thus complying with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Executive has highlighted through of social networks.
