The Regency greets and invites citizens to donate organs
The Farewell message it begins with the appreciation and thanks to the classroom for ‘the availability and collaboration that you have granted us in recent months in order to ensure a correct and profitable parliamentary activity’. “This Council and all the organs of the same – the Bureau and Permanent Commissions in primis – have shown how, thanks to the serious and responsible discussion, one can find formidable syntheses even on particularly delicate and divisive issues – they said Oscar Mina and Paolo Rondelli – which can involve differentiated and opposing personal and moral sensitivities; this in the high interest of the Republic, of its multiple institutions and of the citizens who are – and must feel – represented in them. Recalling how during the semester they dedicated specific moments to the institutions to enhance their role, attributions and responsibilities. From the Court to the Captains of the Castle and their councils. From the three Commands of the three Police Corps to the visit to the State Hospital.
The Regency then left the visit of the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, as part of the proposal was formally advanced to hold the Organization’s autumn meeting in San Marino in 2025.
Then a call to social issues, to the semester marred by moments of deep pain and sadness. “The loss of young lives, tragically broken in the height of a happy summer, has left everyone stunned”. Recalling to the awareness of life as a gift received, which can last – beyond detachment – to restore renewed trust and hope, thanks to an act of extreme generosity such as organ donation. The Regency invitesin this regard, all citizens and townspeople to consider the donation of organs, blood, bone marrowas forms of social solidarity, collective love, dedication and generosity towards others, so that every life saved by these donations can be the life of each of us, even in pain and suffering.
Before the farewell, the afternoon session of the council had been monopolized by the conclusion of the general discourse on reform of employment rulesbrought to the classroom by the Secretary of State for Labor Lonfernini. The measure, which is now going to commission, reorganizes the previous laws on the subject in a single legislative provision and harmonises them with the European ones. Among the main aspects is the reduction from 18 to 12 months of maximum duration of fixed-term employment contracts. The work of pensioners, family members, administrators and business partners is also regulated. It is also open to private individuals for placement. The latter aspect on which the oppositions have expressed criticism as well as on the excess of recourse to the decree. Despite the objections, Libera and Repubblica futura did not show a priori opposition, while substantial sharing emerged from the majority banks. The agenda of Libera was rejected (29 no, 9 yes) who asked for a postponement of the examination in the committee of the pension reform, in order to better evaluate it, in particular as regards the weight on pension funds and the impact on public accounts funds. Instead approved almost unanimously (37 yes, 1 non-voting) the agenda, proposed by all council groups, against the violent repression in Iran of women’s protests after the death of Mahsa Aminigiving a mandate to the Foreign Affairs Secretariat to act accordingly in international fora.
