Integration days for Paul-Valéry middle school students
The 206 6th graders have returned to school. “Straddling the months of September and October, each class benefits from two consecutive days of integration. The first day is allocated to the visit of Avignon with the discovery of the Saint-Bénézet bridge and the Palace of the Popes” explained William Vernet, principal of the college.
Supervised by staff from the establishment, the students share a picnic at the Rocher des Doms then continue on to discover the rue de la Peyrolerie, the rue des Teinturiers, the place de l’Horloge, the Maison aux ballons des frères Montgolfier, Place Crillon, a 7 km course.
On the second day, the students leave for a 12 km hike around Roquemaure, with a loop on the Sauveterre plateau and Miémart, where PE teachers organize group games.
“These days allow the teams to get to know the students more quickly. The 2022 vintage is of very high quality. The students were kind and responsible by respecting the instructions and managing the picnic waste perfectly. They were persevering during all day without ever complaining except when it comes to knowing what time they could eat”, added the principal with humor. It should be noted that 75% of the students had never been to the Pont d’Avignon or the Palais des Papes.
