Republic of San Marino – A memorandum of understanding signed between the Salesian Pontifical University and the University of San Marino
(ANS – San Marino) – In order to in synergy on issues such as youth discomfort, school orientation, research and job start-up, the Framework Agreement was signed on Friday 16 September between the University of the Republic of San Marino, in the person of the Vice-Rector Prof Luigi Guerra for the Magnificent Rector Corrado Petrocelli, and the Salesian Pontifical University, in the person of the Magnificent Rector Prof. Don Andrea Bozzolo. Also present at the time of signing was the Secretary of State for Education and Culture of the Republic of San Marino Andrea Belluzzi.
Exchange of teachers and students, organization of seminars, collaboration in teaching and career guidance. These are just some of the points envisaged in the memorandum of understanding presented at the press conference.
“The issues on which we begin to work are those of youth discomfort, school orientation, calculating on the great quality of the tradition of the Salesian university in Italy and in the world” said Luigi Guerra, Vice Rector of UNIRSM.
The agreement establishes mutual cooperation in the field of university teaching, research and innovation and initiatives of mutual interest in the scientific, artistic and cultural fields. It provides for the activation of forms of collaboration in ambitions such as: teaching, through the implementation of common projects, the implementation of planned training courses; job orientation, through the creation of curricular or training internship and orientation courses; research, through the identification and development of projects of common interest, the mobility of doctoral students and researchers, the promotion of joint publication and the organization of seminars.
“We don’t just see the student, we see the person in his fullness and the development of his abilities and talents. In our university – underlines Don Andrea Bozzolo, Rector of the UPS – we have students who come from 95 countries, a great wealth that allows us to make cultures interact even within the academic space with various initiatives and interdisciplinary paths ”. And he adds: “There is mutual esteem between our institutions, this Framework Agreement strengthens our academic relations and will quickly translate into important pedagogical projects”.
After the press conference, the audience in Palazzo Pubblico by the Captains Regent Oscar Mina and Paolo Rondelli: “We are strongly convinced – say the Heads of State – that the increasingly frequent forms of mutual collaboration between universities, combined with the promotion of common interest, are extremely fundamental “.
“The Salesian Pontifical University – concluded Secretary of State Andrea Belluzzi – looks with interest at the path of European integration undertaken by our university. Don Bosco’s activity, which is so important to you, represents a precious point of reference also for the San Marino Youth Community: the Salesians have collaborated in the education and growth of ours. I am sure that through your academic activity you will continue St. John Bosco’s dream of making the talents handed out to every young person grow in a virtuous way ”.
