San Marino. Wine tourism, Pedini Amati in Alba at the UNWTO Forum
Tourism ministers gathered by the United Nations World Organization to talk about wine tourism and the global development of the sector.
The Secretary of State for Tourism Federico Pedini Amati participated on 20 and 21 September in the Global Conference On Wine Tourism organized in Alba by the United Nations World Tourism Organization UNWTO.
The first day of the event was characterized by a series of round tables that tried to give answers to the questions that countries and organizations ask themselves on the future of wine tourism, food and wine, on the promotion of routes and itineraries and on the protection of areas. recognized for their characterization linked to the world of wine. Among the speakers Sandra Carvão, Head of Tourism Market Intelligence and Competitiveness of UNWTO, Mauro Agnoletti, UNESCO Chair at the Institute of Higher Education for Landscapes of Agricultural Heritage University of Florence and above all Carlo Petrini, founder of Slow Food who signed with the UNWTO Secretary General Zurab Polikashvili a memorandum of understanding. Also present were David Mora, Founder of the School of Enotourism and Coordinator of the Master in Enogastronomic Tourism, Basque Culinary Center (Spain), Roberta Garibaldi, CEO of ENIT – National Tourism Organization and numerous authorities, from all over the world, in the sector of oenology and tourism.
Numerous Ministers present, in addition to Pedini Amati also the Italian Minister of Tourism Massimo Garavaglia, Ilin Dimitrov, Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria, Mariam Kvrivishvili Deputy Minister of Economy and Development of Georgia, Sofia Zaharaki, Deputy Minister of Greek Tourism, Sergiu Prodan, Minister of Culture of Moldova, Rita Marques, Secretary of State for Tourism and Trade of Portugal and Tatjana Matic, Minister of Tourism and Trade of Serbia.
During the first day of the event, the authorities present were invited to visit the Ceretto Winery, one of the most famous wineries in the Langhe, while the dinner was dedicated to the opening of the white truffle season.
The second day of activity opened with a discussion on the vision of the future in which entrepreneurs and operators from all over the world took part, the central theme of which was the search for a way forward created with a vision of community and continued. with the high-level panel that involved the ministries present, including the Secretary of State for Tourism of San Marino Federico Pedini Amati, on the theme “The future of wine tourism”. Pedini Amati brought an intervention during which he recalled the data of San Marino wine production provided by Cantina San Marino and helped to recall the value of synergistic territorial development in the commitment of the TTT as well as having expressed the political will to develop the sector.
The event closed with the handover to the Spanish region of La Rioja which will host the next edition of the event in 2023.
